Prokaryota (Procarya, Procaryota; vo altgriechisch πρό pró ‚vorhea‘ und καρυωτός karyotos ‚wo wia a Nuss ausschaugt‘),[1] san olle Lebewesn, vo dena de Zejn koan Zejkern hom (dazua ghean de Bakterien). De Organismen wo an Zejkern hom, wern Eukaryota (dazua ghean de Pflanzna und Viecha) gnennt.
De Zejn vo de Prokaryota is primitiva, des hoasst weit wenga organisiat ois wia de Zejn vo de Eukaryota.
